Orangeville flexes its muscle in a battle of state ranked teams

Orangeville - The Broncos jumped out to an early 7-0 lead after a quick stop of Amboy a their own 18 yard line. Trying for an onside kick with the behind their back gave Amboy the ball at their own 48 yard line. The Broncos D would only allow Amboy 4 yards before forcing them to punt, but the Clippers were able to turn the field on Orangeville as the punt pinned the Broncos on their own 14 yard line. A Bronco penalty would move them back inside the their own 10 yard line before the Broncos were able to get back to the 11 yard line. Rote would drop back to pass and found Brayden Cahoon on the left sideline as he got away from a would be tackler and was off to the races for an 89 yard TD catch. Roth would add the PAT kick to give Orangeville a 14-0 lead with 2:09 left in the 1st quarter.

Things would start to tighten up, however as the Clippers would put an 80 yard drive together. Quinn Leffelman would pick up 8 yards, while Tucker Lindenmeyer would get the bulk of the yards on an 18 yard option keeper, picked up another 8 yards, then had a big 34 yard run that would see a facemask penalty get tacked on at the end of the play. Moving the ball down to the 2 yard line, Dylan Daniels would put the Clippers on the board at the 10:05 mark of the 2nd quarter to cut the deficit to 14-6.

The Broncos would begin to pound the ball with Lobdell, but the Clipper defense played tough as Lobdell was laboring to pick up 3 to 5 yard gains. At the 2:11 mark he would get in from a yard out to extend the score to a 21-6 lead after Roth added his 3rd PAT kick of the day.

Amboy would begin with great field position again at midfield, but would stall out there and turn the ball over on downs with 21 seconds left in the half.

On the first play Rote dropped back and hit Lobdell on a bubble route to the right sideline, where Lobdell skipped over 1 defender and nobody was left to catch him as he ran down the right sideline for the score. The Roth kick would give Orangeville a commanding 28-6 lead at the break.

The second half belonged to Orangeville, as Folgate would break off a 55 yard run just a 1:10 into the 3rd quarter to give Orangeville a 35-6 lead after Roth added his 5th PAT of the day.

Orangeville would get another stop on Amboy, and turned that into another passing touchdown as Rote found Cahoon again, this time for 71 yards as the Broncos went up 41-6 with 4:58 left in the 3rd quarter. The PAT attempt was no good, the only miss for Roth on the day.

With 1:01 left in the 3rd quarter the Broncos would get the clock running as Lobdell picked up his 3rd rushing TD of the day.

Lobdell would add his 4th rushing TD, and 5th overall, just 2 minutes into the 4th quarter as he put the final score up for the day to give Orangeville a dominating 55-6 win.
