Round 2 | GCMS vs West Carroll

Savanna -

In a 2nd round game that looked to heavily favor the 2 seed GCMS Falcons, the Thunder of West Carroll did everything they could to keep it close. GCMS would get on the board late in the 1st quarter to take a 7-0 lead, and followed that up with a safety in the 2nd quarter to take a 9-0 lead at the half.

In the 2nd half, West Carroll would get on the board as Kody Plattenberger would score on a 1 yard dive on the Thunder's first possession to cut the lead to 9-6, where it would remain entering the 4th quarter.

GCMS would be too much, though, as they scored 2 more touchdowns in the 4th quarter to pull away for a 24-6 win in this 2nd round match-up.

West Carroll ends their season at 7-4. GCMS will advance to the quarterfinals to take on conference crossover opponent El Paso-Gridley in a rematch which GCMS won 45-18 in their first meeting.
