Forreston needed a win coming into Friday night's contest with Galena to lock up a spot in the 2017 playoffs to defend their state championship from last year. After giving up a Colton Bauer 7 yard TD run to trail 7-0, the Cards would put 48 unanswered points, as this game would eventually be called for lightning in the 4th quarter. This gave Forreston a 48-7 win over the Pirates.
Forreston's AJ Christensen carried the ball 4 times for 118 yards and had 2 TD's, while running mate Gavin Fuchs had 2 carries for 76 yards and 1 TD.
