Week 1 | Forreston vs Du-Pec

In a highly anticipated debut for the new coop of Durand and Pecatonica, known as the Du-Pec Rivermen, they had the luxury of opening up at home to kick off 2017. With new Head Coach Tyler Hoffman leading the charge, the Rivermen have a lot to look forward to after both schools closed out 2016 on 0-9 campaigns. However, despite the excitement of a new team, with a new direction, they had the unfavorable draw of hosting the defending Class 1A State Champs, and pre-season Class 1A #1 ranked Forreston Cardinals.
On this electrifying opening night, the Rivermen would succumb early to the heavily favored Cardinals as Forreston jumped out to a 48-0 halftime lead on their way to a 54-6 opening night victory.
