Week 6 | Forreston vs East Dubuque
East Dubuque
The Northwest Game of the Week featured the 4-1 East Dubuque Warriors playing hosts to the Forreston Cardinals on homecoming night. Forreston came into the game looking to capture their 6th win on the season and clinching a spot in the playoffs, while the Warriors were looking to become playoff eligible with their 5th win.
East Dubuque had a lot of festivities going on as their homecoming parade was held before the game, but once the lights came on this game belonged to the high flying Cardinals, as they would dampen the homecoming spirits of the Warrior faithful en route to a 62-0 win.
Gavin Fuchs would lead the Cardinal ground attack with 103 yards on just 3 carries and 2 TD's on runs of 55 and 44 yards. Anthony Christensen pitched in as well with 6 carries for 90 yards and 2 scores of his own 5 yards and 41 yards out. Evan Kelsey would be the 3rd Cardinal runner with a pair of scores as he scored from 6 and 13 yards out. Also pitching in for the Cardinals on the night were Joseph Bowers on a 68 yard TD run, Matt Akins on a 5 yard TD run, and Garett Badertscher from 46 yards out as the Cardinals punched their ticket to the 2016 playoffs.
